Pan's Phantom

Love’s depths move from shadow to shade
to rest in umbrae of calm thoughts
strands of dreams in intricate braid
draped ‘cross desires days hath forgot
assured hopes prance in moonlight’s glade
and turn me from loneliness’ rot
thus I pirouette on pangs’ blade
slicing through fate’s Gordian knot
I dance through nights’ sleepless cascade
soul-stirring until I’m besot.
