The Witching Hour

The Witching Hour

Fate is a sorceress veiled in time
Dark enchantress inducing my heart
Your incantations all of them mine
I am seduced by your magic art

Chant outré spells into the ether
Smother this soul in all that’s sublime
Cast this flesh in lascivious seizure
Fate is a sorceress veiled in time

Clandestine spells released by the fire
Earth mother goddess let’s not depart
Oracular truths feed my desire
Dark enchantress inducing my heart

I am aggressive and wanting more
Flames from this heart shall warm up your shrine
Shall I kick down enigma’s front door?
Your incantations all of them mine

Pricked by thorns from your crimson flower
Let my blood flow until I depart
Live forever in this witching hour
~ I am seduced by your magic art ~

I wrote this poem in cascading quatrains. It is metered to be spoken aloud in rhythm to the Psyches' Choros waltz at 3:33 am... the heart of the witching hour. What is life without a little magic?
