Pendent Hearts
Pendent hartwort seeds of three
Dangle from two golden bees
Hailing from the Cretan Sea
Joined in honeyed paramour
Pendant draped across her heart
Gilded love that he imparts
Time nor space can tear apart
Wings that fly forevermore
I wrote this poem in the form of an Irish ochtfochlach, and though this form requires no specific meter nor line length, I’ve chosen to write this in iambic tetrameter catalectic, starting each stanza with homophones.
