Song of the Sirens

Sirens’ song
Sing something soft and soothing
I’ve been lonely far too long

Murder me
Croons of seductive sea nymphs
End me in your splendid spree

Severed soul
All fear has forgotten me
Drown me in your shallow shoal

An abyss
Yet this world has lost its depth
Many, and all are amiss

Come closer
Do not miss this beating heart
Cleanse me with calming closure

This poem is written in the form of an Irish treochair of five tercets laden with alliteration.
