Lone Traveler

Here before
Times long past
Many lives
Gone too fast

This moment
Will go too
And leave me
Lone from two

Here I’ll stand
To face time
Harden more
Love’s great crime

Thickened walls
Battlement
Just to hide
I lament

Leathered flesh
Calloused hands
Feeling through
Unknown lands

Hope has gone
That’s okay
I’m content
In this way

I owe none
Only me
Lonely road
To be free

I wrote this poem in the form of an Irish cethramtu rannaigechta moire, which uses quatrains with three syllable lines wherein the second and last lines rhyme.
