Eternity

So far away this shared spirit of ours,

Universes apart bound tight as one,

The distance closes, two binary stars,

From color force of love souls cannot run.

Deep nebulae create ambrosial dreams,

But that old tonic of nostalgia fades,

To fresh amalgams that renewed love beams,

Adorn the cosmos in brilliant cascades.

Become the life-force you were meant to be,

Invigorate sentient energies,

Awakened essence, immortality,

For these shall always be our days to seize.

From nothing spawns this very existence.

Desire endures regardless of distance.

I wrote this poem in the form of a Shakespearean sonnet. Decasyllabic lines in iambic pentameter following traditional rhyming sequences. It’s about love that changes but never dies.
